In a Hurry? Here’s the Short Version

If you already have brow tattooing or microblading that has gone too dark, too wide or the wrong colour, we may suggest laser lightening first, then carefully planned correction work. The goal isn’t always to erase every trace of pigment, but to soften and reshape your brows so we can move towards a shade and shape that feel more flattering and wearable.

Some clients only need one or two lightening sessions before we can safely create new brows; others may need more – it depends on how deep, dense and dark the old tattoo is. At your consultation, Anna will look at your skin, existing brows and history, then explain honestly what is realistic and roughly how many stages may be involved.

What Eyebrow Tattoo Removal & Correction Actually Involve?

Many clients come to Brow Master London with existing brow tattoos or microblading that have changed colour or shape over time – often turning blue, grey, red or simply looking too heavy for their face now. In these cases, we may recommend laser removal or gentle lightening first, followed by carefully planned correction work.

The aim isn’t to strip your skin harshly or promise a “magic erase” in one go. Instead, we work in stages to soften heavy or unwanted brows and gradually move towards a brow shape and colour that look more flattering and wearable in real life.

Anna regularly works on complex correction cases from other studios. At your consultation she will assess your brows honestly, explain what is realistically possible for your skin and pigment, and give you a rough idea of how many laser and/or correction sessions may be needed.

Once the old pigment has been softened enough, we can use Microblading, Nano hairstrokes, Ombre shading or combination brows to rebuild a better brow – always focusing on how it will heal and how it will look day to day, not just in a photograph.

#who-tattoo-removal-is-for

Tattoo removal or lightening may be a good option if you:

  • Have very dark, blocky or wide brow tattoos you no longer like

  • Notice your brows have turned blue, grey, red or an unnatural tone

  • Feel your old brows sit too high, too low or the wrong shape for your face

  • Have had multiple top-ups elsewhere and the brows now look “solid” or overfilled

  • Have been told that new microblading or Nano will not sit well over your existing tattoo

Correction alone (without laser) can sometimes work if your old brows are already quite light and faded, and the main issue is shape or mild unevenness. However, if the old pigment is very dark or dense, trying to correct on top can make the brows look even heavier – in these cases, lightening first is often the safest and most flattering long-term choice.

At your consultation we’ll always be honest if we feel your brows are too saturated for safe new work, or if we believe you would not benefit enough from removal. In those cases we’ll explain why and discuss your options clearly before you commit to anything.

Who Eyebrow Tattoo Removal & Correction Work Best For?

#removal-vs-lightening-correction

Removal, Lightening or Just Correction – What’s the Difference?

Laser removal / lightening

We use targeted laser treatment to break down existing brow pigment gradually so your body can clear it over time. The goal is often lightening rather than total erasure, making it safer and easier to create new brows that look softer and more natural.

Correction / cover-up

Correction uses new pigment and a better shape design to improve the look of old brows. Techniques like Nano hairstrokes, Ombre shading or combination brows can be used to reshape, balance or soften old work – but this is safest when the old tattoo is already fairly light.

Removal + new brows

For many complex cases, the best approach is a combination: a few sessions of lightening to reduce heavy pigment, followed by new brows using microblading, Nano or Ombre once your skin is ready. This staged plan usually gives a more natural, stable result than trying to fix everything in one go.

Every case is different. In our Notting Hill studio, we’ll look at your skin, pigment, brow shape and your goals, then recommend whether removal, correction or a combination of both is the safest and most realistic route.

Consultation & Assessment

We start with a detailed consultation where we look at your brows in natural light, discuss your brow history and previous treatments, and take photos for your record. We’ll talk through what bothers you most and what kind of result you hope for.

Patch Test & First Laser Session

If laser is suitable for you, we’ll carry out a patch test and explain how the treatment feels, what to expect during and after the session, and what the realistic goals are. Your first full lightening session can often be booked soon after the patch test, subject to your skin response and medical history.

Series of Lightening Sessions (If Needed)

Most people need more than one session to reach a good lightening point. The number of sessions depends on how deep and dense the old pigment is, how your skin responds and how much fading we need before creating new brows. Sessions are usually spaced several weeks apart to allow your skin to recover.

Planning & Creating New Brows

Once your old brows are softened enough, we can design new brows using microblading, Nano hairstrokes, Ombre shading or combination brows. We’ll carefully map a new shape suited to your features and choose pigment colours that complement your skin, with the focus on a natural, long-term result.

Follow-Up & Touch-Up

Whether you’re just lightening or moving on to new brows, we’ll schedule appropriate follow-ups to monitor healing and fine-tune the result. If you go ahead with new brows, a perfecting touch-up is usually carried out around 6–8 weeks after the first brow session.

What Happens in a Tattoo Removal & Correction Plan?

#healing-safety

Healing, Downtime and Safety Considerations

After a laser lightening session, you can expect temporary redness, mild swelling and sometimes slight darkening or frosting of the pigment before it starts to fade. The area may feel warm or tender for a short time after treatment.

  • First 24–48 hours: Mild redness and warmth; keep the area clean and dry, follow aftercare instructions.

  • Days 3–7: Any slight scabbing or dryness should be left alone – do not pick or scratch.

  • Weeks 2–6: Pigment gradually softens and lightens as your body breaks it down; true fading can be easier to judge after several weeks.

As with any laser treatment, there are risks such as temporary darkening, lightening or textural changes to the skin. We minimise these risks by using appropriate settings, spacing sessions sensibly and giving detailed aftercare advice. Not everyone is suitable for laser – certain medical conditions, medications, skin types or recent sun exposure may mean we recommend a different approach.

If you go on to have new brows after lightening, we’ll also explain the healing process for microblading, Nano or Ombre so you understand the full journey from your current brows to the final corrected result.

#prices-booking

The cost of brow tattoo removal and correction in London depends on how many laser sessions are needed, how complex the correction is and whether you decide to go ahead with new brows at the end of the process. Some clients need only a light “softening” before new brows; others may need a more gradual, multi-stage approach.

At Brow Master London, we offer single-session prices as well as packages for those who are likely to need more than one lightening session. We may also, from time to time, offer combined packages where you can save when booking laser lightening together with a new microblading, Nano or Ombre brows treatment.

How Much Does Eyebrow Tattoo Removal & Correction Cost?

Working with Complex Brows from Other Studios

A large part of our tattoo removal and correction work comes from clients who have had brows done elsewhere and feel unhappy with the colour, shape or heaviness. We treat these cases with extra care, as the skin has already been worked on, and our priority is always long-term skin health as well as appearance.

In some situations, we may suggest a slower, staged plan – for example, a few lightening sessions, a pause to let the skin recover fully, and then new brows using a gentle technique like Nano or soft Ombre. In other cases, where the pigment is already light, we may be able to move to new brows sooner.

We will never promise a perfect, “never had anything done” look when that isn’t realistic. Instead, we aim for meaningful, visible improvement – softer, more modern brows that suit your face better and make you feel more comfortable day to day.

Can you remove my brow tattoo in one session?

It is very unlikely that a dark or dense brow tattoo will be fully removed in one session. Most clients need a series of lightening sessions to reach a safe point for new brows. How many depends on how deep, dark and old the pigment is, as well as how your skin responds.

Will laser removal damage my skin or brows?

When performed correctly on suitable clients, laser lightening is designed to target the pigment, not remove large layers of skin. However, all laser treatments carry some risk, which is why we assess your skin carefully, perform a patch test where needed and give you full aftercare instructions. We’ll always explain the potential risks and benefits before you decide.

Can you correct my brows without any laser?

Sometimes, yes. If your old tattoo is already fairly light and the main issue is shape or minor unevenness, we may be able to correct using Nano hairstrokes, Ombre shading or combination brows alone. If your brows are very dark, dense or the wrong position, we’re more likely to recommend at least some lightening first.

How long do I need to wait between laser and new brows?

We generally leave several weeks between each lightening session, and also allow time after your final laser session before creating new brows. The exact timing depends on your skin, healing and how much lightening was needed. At each review we’ll advise when we feel it is safe to move on to new brows.

Am I suitable for brow tattoo removal?

Suitability depends on your skin type, medical history, medications, how recently you’ve had sun exposure and the nature of your old tattoo. The best way to know is to book a consultation or patch test, where we can check your skin, ask the right questions and explain your options clearly.
